AM, Effects of intron-2 RNA on Trypanosoma congolense
P74 proteins Onl J Bioinform.,
26 (2) 77-84, 2025. Trypanosoma congolense RNA
interference cell lines were obtained and functional analysis of Trypanosoma
congolense P74 gene was performed using double-stranded
RNA interference. The present study strongly indicates and further verified the
data of the previous research that, P74 gene is stage-specific and the expression
is developmentally up-regulated in Trypanosoma congolense
bloodstream forms. The inability to determine the function due to the
stage-specific expression of the gene still contributed to the understanding of
the nature of the gene and double-stranded RNA interference in trypanosomes. The study further stresses that T. congolense
is still amenable to double-stranded RNA interference and is a suitable for
stage-specific gene expression.
Key words: Double-stranded RNA, Trypanosoma congolense, proteins.
