ABSTRACT

Shanmugam G,  Antony T, Natarajan J., Protein secondary structure prediction by consensus, Onl J Bioinform., 23 (2):211-217, 2022. Protein secondary structure can be predicted by neural networks, machine learning and discriminate analysis. We predicted 2nd structure by combining PHD, PREDATOR, HNN and SOPMA by simple majority yielding average Q3 accuracy of 71.2% an 0.9% improvement over PHD. Segment overlap accuracy (SOV) yielded 72.4% by consensus. We assume that noise-filtering by consensus approach avoids training errors of single methods.

Keywords: Secondary Structure Prediction, Consensus prediction, Neural Networks, Machine learning.
