ABSTRACT
Feroz Khan, Satarudra
Prakash Singh, BN Mishra., Conservation of acetoacetyl-CoA
reductase in bacteria, Onl J Bioinform.,
27 (2) : 61-98, 2026. For evaluation of PFM performance,
predicted results were compared with PhoB matrix of RegulonDB; an E. coli
regulatory network database. PhoB activator
binding sites were identified in phbB gene orthologs of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) metabolic
pathway. We found PhoB binding sites conserved
in bacterial genomes which had PHB biosynthetic metabolic pathway genes and those
encoding orthologous PhoB transcription factor. We find
that for efficient PHB biosynthesis, acetoacetyl-CoA
reductase is a limiting enzyme and under phosphate limitation, PHB biosynthesis
pathway would be induced optimally.
